The description of these elements can be found here: Model Meta Information.
The VDA recommendation 4968 “Vehicle Electric Container (VEC)” defines an information model, a data dictionary, and an XML schema derived from and compliant to the model. The intention of the model was to cover a wide range of use cases and application scenarios. For this reason the specification had to be kept generic in some degree and in some aspects. However, for specific scenarios and / or use cases a more detailed description on “how the different pieces fit together” is possible. More...
The version 2.0.2 is a schema compatible bug fix release for Version 2.0.1 (schema compatible except for areas affected by bugs). The changes were: Renaming of the wrongly named class ConnectionNodeViewItem-> ComponentNodeViewItem. This was done schema compatible by deprecating the ConnectionNodeViewItem. V2.0.0 introduced the ConfigurationConstraint as subelement to the ConfigurableElement. This turned out to a unfavorable design decision. With this release, the ConfigurationConstraint was moved into its own specification allowing external configuration (from within other documents) of ConfigurableElements. More...
The version 2.0.1 is a schema compatible bug fix release for Version 2.0.0 (schema compatible except for areas affected by bugs). This release was necessary due to a model / schema generator bug that resulted in some XML elements that should had a primitive value having no explicit xs:type set. Additionally some multiplicities and role names were undefined resulting in a too restrictive schema in some elements. Having the necessity of a publication of this release we took the opportunity to improve the documentation of some elements and to extend some OpenEnumerations with new values. More...
With this version the VEC switched to a semantic versioning scheme. As this version contains schema incompatible changes it is published as a new major version. A new recommendation is not published at this point. This version addresses about 60 Bugs and Features Requests.
The issues that were resolved came mainly from two areas:
The version 1.2.2 is a bug fix release for Version 1.2.0. Between the minor versions (1.2.X) and its predecessor minor versions (Version 1.1.X) over 190 individual issues have been addressed. An overview of the main improvements, information about incompatibilities to preceding versions and a complete and detailed change history is available in the first (V1.2.0) release notes of the minor VEC version 1.2.X. This version is the 3rd edition of the “Vehicle Electric Container (VEC)” PSI 21 / VDA 4968 Recommendation. It contains many improvements and extensions in various areas and it also publishes the changes from previous minor versions (1.1.1 - 1.1.3) in the form of a formal recommendation. More...
This version brings features in the area of electrical design (especially new semantics for the 3 layers (Net, Connection, and Wiring Specification). Additionally there are a lot of small improvements, mainly new attributes, for the description of components and new OpenEnumerations. More...
This version brings features introduced in KBL 2.4 to the VEC. Additionally it also implements feature requests and bug fixes brought up during the first implementations in the area of component descriptions. For detailed release notes see VEC JIRA Release Notes. For this version no new specification document will be published. More...
This version fixes a technical bug in the namespace declaration, only. The 1.1.0 model description and the associated tutorials are still valid. More...
