| Lance | Lance specifies, that the terminal has a lance or lances (syn. tang) to lock itself in the cavity. |
| Lanceless | Lanceless specifies, that the terminal itself has no lance (syn. tang) to lock itself in the cavity. However, it is locked in the cavity by some mechanical feature of the cavity (e.g. a lance). |
